Senior setter Regina Aluise had 18 set assists, four kills and 10 service points to help lead the Braden River High volleyball team past Rivewview for its second victory of the season tonight.

The Lady Pirates defeated the Lady Rams 25-23, 25-22 and 27-25. Lauren Powell, Brittany Jaco and Kaleigh Jaco each had seven kills apiece for Braden River.

"Our service receive and defense were very solid," coach Steven Haugh said. "Regina (Aluise) showed why she is one of the best setters in the area. She kept one of the best blocking teams off balance all night with great decisions. Riverview is a very good team when they can get set and block, but Regina kept them guessing all night.

Braden River will return to action at 7 p.m., Sept. 1 for its home opener against Venice.
