The Lakewood Ranch High girls cross country team finished fifth at the Little Everglades Pre-State Elite Invitational Oct. 17 in Dade City.
Freshman Kristin Zarrella finished 21st in 19:27.88 followed by Olivia Ortiz (28th) in 19:35.83, Devin McDermott (36th) in 19:46.37, Natalie Novak (58th) in 20:19.80 and Emily Wray (61st) in 20:21.01.
The Lady Mustangs will return to action Oct. 24 at the Bradenton Runners Club Invitational.
