Key condo associations complete Bay Partner projects

Two Longboat Key condominium associations recently completed Bay Partner Grant Projects funded by the Sarasota Bay Estuary Program (SBEP).

The Windward Bay Condominium Association expanded its saltwater bioswale and added more native plants. The Beachplace Association Inc. expanded and upgraded its storm-water detention pond.

The SBEP grant program has provided $150,000 in grants to 150 local organizations since 2002. Businesses, non-profit organizations, schools, condominium associations and neighborhood associations in Sarasota and Manatee counties are eligible for grants. Grant applications for the current fiscal year are due by 4 p.m. Thursday, March 1, 2012. Download applications at sarasotabay.org.
