Tropical Storm Katia continues to gain strength in the eastern Atlantic Ocean, according to a 5 p.m. report from the National Weather Service Hurricane Center. But according to the report, the storm doesn’t appear to be a threat to Longboat Key. The current five-day potential track area projections place Katia to the northeast of Puerto Rico by Sunday afternoon.
