Islandside project hearing dates confirmed

Eleven dates have been confirmed in May and June to approve a $400 million Islandside project being proposed by the Longboat Key Club and Resort.

Susan Phillips, assistant to the town manager, sent the long list of tentative meeting dates to commissioners Monday, April 19.

The list of meetings for code changes is:

• 9 a.m. Monday May, 3 (to review code changes on first reading at Town Hall, 501 Bay Isles Road)
• 1 p.m. Thursday, May 6 (most likely to continue code change discussion)
• 5:01 p.m. Thursday, May 20 (to approve potential code changes on second reading)

And the following dates have been reserved for the Islandside application’s review and possible approval:

• 9 a.m. Monday, June 7
• 9 a.m. Wednesday, June 9
• 9 a.m. Monday, June 14
• 9 a.m. Wednesday, June 16
• 2 p.m. Monday, June 28
• 9 a.m. Friday, June 30

A location for the hearings after May 6 has yet to be determined. The hearings will either be held at Town Hall or Temple Beth Israel, 567 Bay Isles Road.
