New College alumna and internet law expert Jennifer Granick recently co-wrote op-ed columns in The New York Times and The Atlantic arguing that the National Security Agency’s mass surveillance of phone calls, emails and other online communications is illegal. Granick studied political science at New College and graduated in 1990. She is currently director of civil liberties at Stanford Law School’s Center for Internet and Society.
