Former Braden River High School football coach Josh Hunter was found guilty in the death of fellow coach and friend Doug Garrity this afternoon.

Prosecutors in Hunter's DUI manslaughter case say Hunter was under the influence of alcohol when his Ford F-150 truck crashed on Interstate 75 at the State Road 681 on-ramp March 21, 2009. The truck veered off the road and overturned after Hunter failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway. Garrity, who was in the truck, was killed in the crash.

Sentencing is scheduled for June 11. Hunter faces up to 15 years in prison.

James Hunter, Josh Hunter's brother, was sentenced May 14 to three months in jail, six months probation and 50 hours of community service for refusing to testify in his brother’s trail.

James Hunter was a passenger in the truck during the accident.
