The Humane Society of Manatee County is getting in the holiday spirit.

Through Jan. 4, the organization will be joining nearly 3,500 shelters around the world to participate in the annual Iams Home 4 the Holidays pet adoption campaign, an effort to place 1.5 million homeless pets into new homes.

The shelter also is offering discounts on male dog neuters for the month of December. If you bring in two dogs, the first is a regular price of $55, but the second dog will be neutered for free. The offer only is available to Manatee County residents, and there are no income qualifications.

The clinic is still offering free spay or neuter surgery for pit bulls and pit bull mixes, and regular price spay/neuter services for cats and dogs of other breeds.

Animals available for adoption can be viewed at www.humanemanatee.org. The shelter is located at 2515 14th St. W., Bradenton.
