An impressive line of eager and anxious women started forming at the doors of Nordstrom Rack Tuesday, Nov. 5. By 4 p.m., the line wrapped around the parking lot.
The store officially opened to the public Thursday, Nov. 7, but Nordstrom Fashion Rewards members got exclusive access to check out the new store and, of course, to shop at the pre-opening party.
Customers were handed complimentary Nordstrom Rack totes upon entering the store and were greeted by cheers and applause from the 70 employees. Waiters made the rounds throughout the store offering champagne with straws and light bites and desserts for the shoppers.
Comments such as “This is dangerous,” “But I want everything,” and “I need another cart” could be heard in conversations throughout the store during the event, which attracted more than 900 customers.
“We are thrilled with the customer response to our Fashion Rewards pre-shop event,” says Nordstrom Rack representative Kate DeToye. “We are fortunate to have so many customers already in the area, and we are pleased to bring a store closer to home for them.”
The store will receive shipments between three-to-four times a week, and the designers the store carries will vary from shipment to shipment.
“We are encouraging our customers to download our new app, Rack Alerts,” says Nordstrom Rack representative Nicole Munson. “You can save your store location and receive inventory alerts when we receive shipments — and you can even choose what designers and merchandise you would like to be notified about.”
