Hillcroft/Regent defeats Ten Oaks/Rude Boy in Maduro final

Hillcroft/Regent defeated Ten Oaks/Rude Boy 13-7 in the Maduro Cigar & Bar Final Jan. 29.

Jamie Mirikitani scored eight goals to lead the way for Hillcroft/Regent. Stuart Campbell and James Miller each scored a pair of goals and Kelly Beck added a goal.

Shane Rice scored three goals and Jon-Luke Beck scored two goals to lead the way for Ten/Oaks Rude Boy.

Campbell was named the match’s Most Valuable Player, and Miller was named the Most Valuable Amateur. Rice received the Best Playing Pony award for his pony’s performance in the fifth chukker.

The teams will return to action at 1 p.m. Feb. 5 in the MGA Insurance Super Bowl Cup.

In other polo news, Pest and Disease Management won the SMR Cup Jan. 29, which featured SMR cowboys and polo players competing in fishing, skeet shooting, team penning, roping, polo and horse race. Champion players include: Holly Chamberlain, Brian Dixon, Rodney Crosby, Steve John, Raymond Guest, Luis Galvano, Cash Shelton, Shane Rice, Ka’aina DeCoite and Julia Schroeder.
