High five moments of the week

1 - Cardinal Mooney runner Cal Davison Turner won a pair of medals at the Class 1A State Track and Field Championships May 2, in Jacksonville, finishing fourth in the 1,600-meter run and sixth in the 3,200.

2 - The Sarasota Christian baseball team defeated Everglades City 10-1 in the Class 2A-Region 3 quarterfinals May 1.

3 - Riverview High senior sprinter Richie James crossed the finish line in 22.08 seconds to finish fifth at the Class 4A State Track and Field Championships May 3, in Jacksonville.

4 - The St. Martha’s Dads’ Club defeated the Cardinal Mooney Dads’ Club 40-32 in the 4th annual Fruitville Cup basketball game May 2.

5 - ODA’s Tre Gregory cleared 13 feet to finish fourth at the Class 1A State Track and Field Championships.
