A longtime confusing and controversial topic for Heritage Harbour South residents is being confronted head-on tonight.

At its meeting at 4 p.m. Feb. 3, the Heritage Harbour South Community Development District board of supervisors will discuss the methodology used to determine residents' assessments and the community's budget.

Residents and supervisors continuously voice concerns about not understanding how assessments are determined.

A financial professional will attend the meeting to give residents an easy-to-understand explanation of the current methodology used.

Over the last few months, CDD have discussed replacing the methodology to an easier-to-understand and possibly more efficient one. But, District Counsel Andy Cohen said replacing the current system could be costly and might still confuse residents.

Supervisors hope hearing tonight's presentation will provide clarity to residents.
