It's that time of year, again, Heritage Harbour South residents: budget and assessment planning.

A controversial topic to the community's residents, the Community Development District's board will mull over a draft of operations and maintenance and debt service assessments, or dollars residents pay annually based on the size of their house. At 4 p.m. today, the CDD will review a mock budget, and will red line expenditures it wants to cut or amend.

The meeting will be held at the Stoneybrook Golf Club, 8000 Stone Harbour Loop, Bradenton.

Residents' assessments will range from a decrease of $28.84, for Lighthouse Cove condo owners, to an increase of $24.35 for select single-family homes, according to the worksheet provided in the meeting documents.

The Stoneybrook Golf Course is projected to pay $197.50 less this year.

The proposed document reflects a $413,000 general fund budget, with dollars allotted for security enforcement, sidewalk, street sign and roadway repairs, among other community necessities.
