Group buys 330 acres east of I-75

Despite uncertainty surrounding development regulations in Sarasota County east of I-75, land on Fruitville Road continues to change hands.

Gabbert Investments Group LLC purchased 330 acres of land at 14567 Fruitville Road from SunTrust Bank for $1.8 million Aug. 15. The property, once the planned site for a low-density development called Hunters Creeks, last sold for more than triple the latest sale price.

It has been owned by lender SunTrust Bank, which took it back in a foreclosure in December.
