Girls Inc. donates turkey dinners to families

Girls Inc. of Sarasota County families took home a turkey for their Christmas dinner and new shoes Thursday, Dec. 19.

With the help of New Balance Sarasota and University Park, Girls Inc. supplied more than 100 families with turkeys, shoes and an early Christmas meal to take home.

The event marked the end of Girls Inc’s "Project: Santa’s Helpers", which has helped families prepare for the holidays. Earlier this month, Santa's Helpers volunteers wrapped donated gifts for families in need.

“Girls Inc is a very positive place,” said Leorah Solomon. “It’s really amazing.”
