Funnel cloud forms in Lakewood Ranch

East County residents took extra caution Monday night, as sudden thunder storms brought heavy gusts of wind and rain and even the formation of a funnel cloud, near Summerfield Park in Lakewood Ranch.

A family in the Mill Creek community captured of the formation of a funnel cloud from the parking lot of the Lakewood Walk Publix, just north of the park, on video.

The funnel cloud dissipated, before it touched ground. 

No damage to homes has been reported. Wind blew trash and tree branches into nearby streets.

The National Weather Service had not issued any weather warnings at the time of the incident.
