New wayfinding signs currently are being installed throughout Longboat Key as part of a $500,000 Gulf of Mexico Drive beautification grant the town received through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

Signs will be installed at locations on both the north and south ends of Longboat Key, the intersection of Gulf of Mexico Drive and Bay Isles Road, just south of the 7-Eleven and around the 5000 block of Gulf of Mexico Drive.

The contractor for the instillation project is the Ocala-based company Foundation Services of Central Florida.

Last month new plantings and two “Welcome to Longboat Key” signs were installed as part of the project.
