In its 12th year, “Team Euphemia Haye” is still going strong.

Nearly 30 people began their Easter weekend with the annual walk in April 19, in Joan M. Durante Park. The walk is meant to raise money and awareness for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, or JDRF.

“We became involved with Juvenile Diabetes when Kate was diagnosed and we were all feeling a bit helpless about that,” said Euphemia Haye co-owner D’Arcy Arpke. “It’s a wonderful organization that really reached out to us. So, we formed our walk team and a lot of these people have been walking with us all these years.”
