The Education Foundation of Sarasota County recognized Sarasota County high school students at the Evening of Excellence Wednesday, Jan. 15.

The students were the winners of the Best of Show, Best of School, Top 25 and People's Choice awards in the Education Foundation’s Juried Art Show competition.

The artwork was on display Saturday, Jan. 11 to Tuesday, Jan. 14 at Ringling College of Art and Design.

The four-day art show included 347 entries submitted by students from every Sarasota County public high school.

2014 Evening of Excellence Co-Chairs Taylor T. Collins and Alix Morin announced the winning students.

Ashlee Baker, a senior at Sarasota High, won Best of Show for her sculpture Dark Rain.

Visitors of the art show were invited to vote for their favorite work to win the Marie B. Ritter People’s Choice Award. Brittany Probus from Sarasota High won the People’s Choice award for her electronic media piece Transient.

The student artists will be donating their winning pieces to the Education Foundation. In February, the students will be honored at the Evening of Excellence gala dinner and auction.
