1 — Braden River guard Deoni Cason was named to All-Tournament team of the Smoothie King Classic Dec. 28 through Dec. 30, at Bradenton Christian, after scoring a combined 51 points in three games.

2 — Blauvelt Georges had 13 points and five rebounds to lead the Lakewood Ranch High boys basketball team to a 70-39 victory against Preble (Wisconsin) in the Kingdom of the Sun Tournament Dec. 29, in Ocala.

3 — Lakewood Ranch’s Luis Tremblay Vidal, Hunter Reed and Dylan Cameron all went 8-0 to win their respective weight classes at the 24-team Southside Duals Dec. 18 and Dec. 19, at Boca Ciega High.

4 — Braden River’s Riley Dunn went 7-0 to earn a gold medal in the 106-pound weight class, at the Southside Duals Dec. 18 and Dec, 19, at Boca Ciega High.

5 — Kyra Klarkowski scored 16 points in a losing effort, as the Lakewood Ranch girls basketball team narrowly fell to Vero Beach 49-46 in the Queen of Palms Classic Dec. 28, in Fort Myers.
