The Longboat Key Planning & Zoning Board will consider next week in a quasi-judicial hearing a site-plan amendment request from Dry Dock Waterfront Grill owner Eric Hammersand that would allow the restaurant to add 1,107 square feet to the restaurant’s second-floor dining area.

The restaurant isn’t seeking to add seats but could reconfigure its waterfront seating if the request is approved.
Town staff has recommended that the board approve the request.

Also during the 9 a.m. Tuesday, June 19 meeting, the board will consider amending the town’s Future Land Map to designate as open space the properties at 4110 Gulf of Mexico Drive, currently designated as limited commercial, and 5810 Gulf of Mexico Drive, now designated as mixed residential. Both properties are currently used as open space.

The board will also consider a proposed ordinance that would selectively regulate hedge heights in side yards in which waterfront yards are impacted.
