Driver killed in University Parkway crash

The driver of a four-door sedan lost control of his vehicle, struck an SUV and died Sunday, June 2, in an accident that sent three others to area emergency rooms, according to a news release.

The Sarasota Police Department has not released the information of the driver killed in the crash, which forced emergency workers to close portions of University Parkway and Desoto Road after 6:50 p.m.

Emergency workers transported 44-year-old Kenneth Davidson to Blake Medical Center on trauma alert, and 70-year-old Kaye Swan and 78-year-old Patricia Bailey to Sarasota Memorial Hospital. All three were in the Lincoln SUV involved in the accident.
