The party room at L’Ambiance Building Two has been exceptionally busy lately.

On Monday, April 25, about 30 residents gathered to hear a special dress rehearsal. It was for the second annual Commemoration of Yiddish Culture, which took place May 1, at Temple Emmanuel, in Newton, Mass.
The performers were L’Ambiance resident Susanne Klingenstein and her accompanist and best friend, Eugenie Gerstein. Their program was titled “Kiev, Krakow, Vilna: Yiddish Folksongs, 1860 to 1960.”

Two days later, six couples threw a surprise birthday party for Danny Paradies, who will turn 90 in May. One of his surprises was the visit of his son, Rick Paradies, from Atlanta. Hosts for the event were J.B. and Dee Pinski, Bob and Terry Blumberg, Sherman and Joyce Cooper, Irwin and Sylvia Pastor, Merrill and Sheila Wynne and Merrill and Sheila Zinder.
