Retired Longboat Observer Senior Editor Dora Walters found herself on familiar turf in December, when she made an appearance at Longbeach Village resident Kip O’Neill’s 19th annual holiday party, then celebrated again with Village residents on New Year’s Eve. And as usual, she started snapping photos.

Walters is currently at her home in Morganton, Ga., but will return to the Key next month to speak to the Longboat Key Historical Society at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, at Christ Church of Longboat Key, Presbyterian, 6400 Gulf of Mexico Drive.
