Deputies searching for bank robbery suspects

Manatee County Sheriff's Office detectives are searching for two suspects who robbed an East County bank this morning.

According to sheriff's office reports, at about 10:30 a.m. this morning, two suspects entered the BB&T Bank at 5375 University Parkway. Witnesses said the suspects were armed with handguns. They jumped over the counter, pointed the guns at employees and demanded money.

The suspects took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the bank on foot. No one was injured.

The suspects are described as two black males. The first was 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-10 with a slim build and in his 20s. The second suspect is around 6 feet tall with a slim build also in his 20s. Photos will be released when and if they become available.
