The Manatee County Sheriff's Office has ended its search for a child who allegedly was abducted Tuesday, in the 3900 block of State Road 70 and now has arrested David L. Walker Sr. with providing false information to law enforcement.

On Tuesday, a caller reported he witnessed a child taken from a bicycle and then put into a tan cargo van. The caller did not provide a name, phone number or other information.

Authorities camvassed the area and found a Mongoose BMX-style bike on the north side of the road. They did not receive a missing child report.

Today, the sheriff's office arrested Walker for providing fase information. He told detectives he reported the incident after seeing the bicycle on the side of the road and that he never witnessed a child being put into a van.
