Deputies arrest two women for retail theft

Two women received more than $1,700 worth of store credit from a local T.J. Maxx by returning stolen merchandise, according to a Sarasota County Sheriff's Office news release.

Deputies arrested 20-year-old Katelyn Kemp and 39-year-old Kathleen Zahn for scheme to defraud and grand theft Aug. 19, for the month-long theft operation targeting the store located at 3700 S. Tuttle Ave.

Video surveillance showed the women taking turns stealing shoes, then returning the stolen merchandise for store credit, according to the probable cause affadavit.
