Deputies arrest two men for credit card scheme

Sarasota County deputies arrested two men at the beginning of what looked to be an ambitious cloned credit card scheme Friday, Aug. 30, according to a Sheriff's Office news release.

Sarasota County deputies arrested two men at the beginning of what looked to be an ambitious cloned credit card scheme Friday, Aug. 30, according to a Sheriff's Office news release.

Deputies tracked down Alfredo Torrella,35, and Orlando Rodriguez,39, after the pair attempted to buy Home Depot gift cards with fraudulent credit cards. Officers found 120 frauduluent credit cards, the personal information of 29 victims and one fake drivers' license.

The Sheriff's Office charged the pair, who claimed to have bought the cards and information for $4,500 in Miami, with criminal use of personal identification, among several other charges.
