When Paul and Sally Keyes celebrated their 50th anniversary Feb. 23, they offered a few suggestions for making their love last.

“Perseverance,” Paul Keyes said.

“He does everything I say,” Sally Keyes said.

But their daughter-in-law, Julie Keyes, offered another reason.

“She has very sticky lipstick that keeps her lips together whenever she’s annoyed,” she said.

The couple married Dec. 20, 1960, but held off on celebrating until their families could join them.
