Under fire for the procurement scandal occurring under his nose, Sarasota County Chief Financial Planner Jeff Seward resigned this morning.

Audits released last week revealed more misconduct in the county’s purchasing practices.

As a result, Seward was placed on a two-day administrative leave.

His resignation brings to 10 the total number of county employees who were fired or who resigned in the aftermath of the scandal.
