County offices to close for holidays

Most Sarasota County offices will be closed Tuesday, Dec. 24, and Wednesday, Dec. 25, in observance of Christmas, according to a county news release.

Libraries, the Sarasota County History Center, recreation centers, Arlington Pool, Payne Park and Knights Trail Park will be closed on those days. Though it's a state agency, the Florida Department of Health in Sarasota County will also cease operations on those days on orders from Gov. Rick Scott.

Sarasota County Area Transit will operate Tuesday, but service will will not run on Christmas day.
