Cougars roll to Classic win

The Cardinal Mooney High football team cruised to a 49-7 victory over Bradenton Christian in its Kickoff Classic Aug. 23.

Quarterback Reese Vita threw a pair of touchdowns to Austin Leach and Ethan Robertson.

Demardre Patterson rushed for 146 yards and two touchdowns. Vince Sellers scored a pair of rushing touchdowns and Jaz Mongeon added a touchdown.
Cardinal Mooney opens the regular season Friday, Aug. 30 versus LaBelle. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
