March 16
JOY RIDE
9 p.m. — 1300 block of Charlotte Avenue.
Motor Vehicle Theft. A woman asked to borrow her roommate’s car to pick up a friend. The roommate awoke in the morning to discover her vehicle and the woman had not returned. The roommate contacted the woman, who said she would bring the car back in 20 minutes, but she never showed up with the 2000 Mazda. The woman was also driving with a revoked license.

March 17
TAKE IT DOWN A NOTCH
12:42 a.m. — 300 block of Ringling Boulevard.
Noise Violation. An officer observed the patio door open at a bar. The officer performed a meter reading at the property line, and the reading exceeded the city ordinance. The officer provided a copy of the 20-4 noise ordinance and issued a verbal warning to the bar owner. The bar owner posted an employee by the door to keep it closed as patrons walked in and out. The bar was entered into a noise-warning file.

POPPIN’ BOTTLES
2:02 a.m. — 1400 block of Main Street. Disturbance. A vacationer from Minnesota told police a woman hit her in the back of the head with a bottle of alcohol in the VIP area of a nightclub. The woman thought the vacationer had sprayed her with Champagne from an opened bottle. A police officer was unable to find any injuries to the vacationer’s head. The officer requested video surveillance to see if anything was caught on video.

March 18
BAD WOMAN
12:45 a.m. — 1500 block of Main Street.
Unclassified. A resident reported an unknown woman on Main Street kicked a dog in the stomach. The woman was also yelling at customers.

TWO FOR THE PRICE OF ONE
10:43 p.m. — 1100 block of Central Avenue. Recovered Stolen Vehicle. Officers responded to a burglary call and noticed a stolen green Hyundai pull into a parking garage. Officers had the car towed to the police department to be processed for evidence. The car had been reported stolen twice over the past six months.

ALL KEYED UP
1 p.m. — 3800 block of Osprey Avenue. Criminal Mischief. An employee was leaving work and found the left side of her silver Saturn had been keyed. An officer took photos of the damaged car.

March 19
SHADY ACTIVITY
5 p.m. — 600 block of East Avenue
. Loitering. A resident came to the police department to report narcotics activity at a home. Prostitutes also frequent the home, according to the resident.

March 20
“NOT MINE”
2:38 a.m. — 1500 block of Main Street.
Suspicion Person. An officer noticed a homeless man with a full beard sitting in a doorway. There was a beer car in the doorway area. The man said it was not his. The officer checked to see if the man had warrants, and he did not. The man left the area.
