Sept. 8
You’re not on candid camera
6 p.m. — 2200 block of North Washington Boulevard. Burglary. The manager of a storage unit center reported that 24 storage units had been broken into in two days. Unfortunately, neither video camera installed on the property was in working order.

Sept. 9
Sleep deprived
1:30 a.m. — 4000 block of Fruitville Road. Disturbing the Peace. A man in an assisted-living facility told police he was being kept awake all night from moaning by the man who lives in the room next to him. The man was advised it wasn’t a police issue but promised to voice his concern to the facility’s staff.

Sign confusion
6:56 p.m. — 1000 block of Boulevard of the Arts. Illegal Parking. A man complained that taxicabs were parking illegally at a hotel. The bellhop advised police that cabs have been staged in that area for 30 years without any problems. The reason the complaint was made was because the street had been remodeled and the “cab parking only” signs had been replaced with no-parking signs. Police advised the bellhop to call the city and request the old signs be put back in place.

Nail down the clients
7:31 p.m. — 600 block of North Washington Boulevard. Suspicious Circumstance. A nail salon employee called police to report that he did the nails of four teenage girls and is worried he isn’t going to get paid for his work. The Visa card swiped for the $205 bill didn’t immediately go through, and the girls left phone numbers and license plate numbers in case the purchase didn’t go through. The only problem is none of the information left behind was valid.

Sept. 10
Sour note
12 a.m. — 2000 block of Ninth Street. Stolen Property. A man believes his estranged wife, who he says has a drug problem, stole his guitars and pawned them. Police found four of the six missing guitars at local pawnshops.

Sept. 11
You scream ...
3:20 a.m. — 1700 block of Laurel Street. Trespassing. Police responded to a report of a man yelling at motorists as they passed. They made contact with the man, who was sitting in a nearby park, and issued him a trespass warning for being in the closed public facility.

Last call
9:40 p.m. — 1900 block of Main Street. Trespassing. A security guard told police he wanted a drunken man removed from the property. Police approached the man, who could barely stand, and asked him how much he had had to drink that night. “Not enough,” he replied.

Sept. 12
Double trouble
8 p.m. — 3800 block of South Osprey Avenue. Theft. A woman told police she believes someone stole her purse from her shopping cart while she was shopping. She said she stepped away from the cart several times. Another woman reported her purse missing after shopping at the same store. Police planned to review the grocery store’s surveillance footage.

Sept. 13
Thou shalt not lie
4:33 p.m. — 200 block of South Palm Avenue. Trespassing. Police found a man sleeping on a towel on church property. The man told police he had permission from church staff to sleep there. Church officials told police the man was lying, and he was sent on his way.
