June 9
Bouncing back
1:45 a.m. — 1400 block of Main Street. Battery. Police assisted an officer in grabbing a man involved in a fight outside of a club. The bouncer told police when he tried to remove the man from the club, the man punched him. He was arrested and charged with battery.

WHAT A CREEPER
3:24 a.m. — 1700 block of South Tamiami Trail. Suspicious Person. A woman told police a man was harassing her from his car while she walked home. Police couldn’t find the car that matched the woman’s description.

Off the mark
10:40 a.m. — 1400 block of John Ringling Parkway. Disorderly Conduct. Police responded to a report of someone shooting a BB gun into the water. Police found the man, and he agreed to stop firing BBs into the bay.

June 10
Addictive personalities
10:57 a.m. — 1600 block of Fourth Street.
Disturbing the Peace. A man told police that a couple drove up in front of his house and started yelling at him, complaining that his son stole the wife’s purse. The man told police his son is a former addict and the couple in the car are current addicts who have been harassing him because he no longer uses drugs with them.

June 11
Feeling of deflation
10:57 a.m. — 3600 block of South Osprey Avenue.
Theft. A woman reported that someone stole a deflated boat and a trailer that she had been storing on the side of her house for the last seven years.

Caught on tape
12:30 p.m. — 400 block of Golden Gate Point. Vehicle Burglary. A woman reported that someone broke into her car three days earlier and stole her purse. A security camera shows a man far in the distance opening the unlocked car door and stealing her purse.

Gateway drugs
7 p.m. — 1900 block of Main Street. Theft. A man told police he suspects his employee stole a $800 Gateway computer from his office. He believes his employee has a drug problem.


Bumper car
2:20 p.m. — 500 block of South Gulfstream Avenue. Vehicle Crash. Two people reported that a man driving a black car backed into a woman’s legally parked moped, knocking it to the ground.

 

June 10
Overdose and run
4 p.m. — 2500 block of South Tamiami Trail.
Suspicious Circumstance. A woman was brought into the rear of a hospital by a couple who fled the area after she was put on a gurney. The woman was suffering a heroin overdose and admitted to “shooting up” with the couple earlier. Police looked for the couple, but they had already packed up and left their hotel room.

June 11
What’s the holdup?
3:58 p.m. — 1800 block of Main Street.
Alarm. Bank employees were startled to discover their holdup alarm went off during normal hours. It was a false alarm; no one was robbing the bank.

Gateway drugs
7 p.m. — 1900 block of Main Street. Theft. A man told police he suspects his employee stole a $800 Gateway computer from his office. He believes his employee has a drug problem.

Lack of locks
11:48 a.m. — 1600 block of 11th Street. Landlord Dispute. A man complained that his landlord threatened to lock him out of the warehouse he has rented for the last seven years because he was a month behind on his rent. The landlord soon sent someone to the warehouse to change the locks. Police told the man he couldn’t do that and that the tenant would have to be formally evicted. The locks were removed.

June 12
Double whammy
12:17 p.m. — 1500 block of Tenth Street.
Theft. An intoxicated man told police that he let a man borrow his cell phone. The man used the phone, hung up and then hopped on drunk man’s bicycle, stealing both the phone and the bike.

Return to sender
1:01 p.m. — 2000 block of Main Street. Suspicious Circumstance. An investment-company employee turned over a package his company received that contained a lot of prescription drugs.

Popular hangout
2:49 p.m. — 1500 block of Main Street. Trespassing. A clothing store employee reported several homeless people leaning against the store’s walls. They were asked to leave.

Fenced in
3:48 p.m. — 800 block of Indian Beach Drive. Trespassing. A man reported several people hanging out near his fence, close to the water. They were gone before police arrived.

Dancing in the streets
4 p.m. — 1500 block of First Street. Suspicious Circumstance. Someone reported a man stumbling through the street in the middle of the afternoon. He was gone before police arrived.
