July 21

GOING THE DISTANCE
7:30 a.m. — 300 block of Parkland Avenue
Suspicion Vehicle: A woman reported that a man came up to her door and asked to use the bathroom. When the woman said no, the man stated he had walked to the area from Tampa. She thought the behavior was suspicious, and watched the man walk away and get into a newer pickup truck. The woman consulted with a few of her neighbors, who had also seen the truck that morning and thought it was suspicious. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle in question.

July 23

DIRTY TACTICS
10 p.m. — 1100 block of Florida Avenue
Property Damage: After parking his truck in his driveway overnight, a man discovered the next morning that all his tires were flat. An officer noted that all the tires had small slits in them. The man said there is a person with whom he is in an ongoing dispute, and said that person was illegally operating a car wash at a vacant home. Officers were unable to gather any further information on the purported car wash operator.

July 24

STORAGE WARS
9 a.m. — 800 block of 42nd Street
Dispute: A landlord complained that a tenant of hers accessed a shared attic space, and she believed he might have taken items that did not belong to him. The woman said she would not know what, if anything, was taken until her husband got home. The woman and her husband had gotten into a conflict with the tenant earlier that day. The tenant said he was just gathering his personal items and preparing to move out of the residence. The landlord said she would activate video surveillance in the attic to avoid further issues.

PEACEFUL AND QUIET?
11:38 a.m. — 700 block of Central Avenue
Noise Complaint: An employee at a health service provider reported a disturbance outside of the building. The employee stated several individuals were protesting nearby, and could be heard inside the building. She added that the protestors occasionally used a portable voice amplifier, as well. An officer observed two individuals peacefully protesting outside of the building’s front door, and neither of the protesters were seen using a voice amplifier.
