FEEDING FRENZY
2:45 p.m. — 1500 block of Glen Oaks Drive
Suspicion: A man called the police after an unknown woman entered his home while he was in the shower. The man heard a noise in his kitchen and found the woman, who had dog food in her hand. The woman said the man's roommate had told her to come feed the dog, and that the roommate told the woman the back door would be left open so she could enter. The man said nothing in the home had been tampered with, and the roommate confirmed that she told the woman to feed the dog. Officers told the man he should try to communicate with his roommate better.

May 9

SOMETHING STINKS
11:30 a.m. — 3500 block of South Tamiami Trail
Theft: While watching surveillance video, a security officer at a store noticed a man walking around with an empty bag. She then saw the man grab several bottles of cologne, placing them into the empty bag. The woman exited the video room and confronted the man, who was making his way past all registers. She told the man to drop the bag, which he did before fleeing the area on foot. The man was attempting to steal 12 bottles of cologne, valued at $324 in total.

YARD WORK
8 p.m. — 1400 block of Myrtle Street
Misc. Officer: A woman reported that construction ongoing in front of her house was causing vehicles to drive through her yard. Several barricades had been set up on the woman's property, but unknown subjects removed those barricades and drove their vehicles through the yard anyway. The woman put the barricades back up, attached caution tape to them and moved her own vehicle to block any more cut-through traffic. The woman agreed to speak with construction workers to figure out any other solutions to prevent vehicles from damaging her grass. 

May 10

ORGANIZED CHAOS
6 p.m. — 2200 block of Fruitville Road
Suspicion: An anonymous caller saw a woman going through the flatbed of a truck, and alerted officers regarding a potential burglary. An officer made contact with the woman, who was moving items around in the back of the truck. She said she dropped off some of her possessions at storage, and she was re-arranging her truck as a result. The officer confirmed that the woman was the registered owner of the truck.
