Nov. 2
PICK-UP PICKPOCKET

2:35 a.m. — 2000 block of Hillview Street. Petit Theft All Other. A man said he met a girl while drinking at a restaurant. They both went to his apartment, where his mother arrived home shortly after. The woman left the residence abruptly. The man then noticed his wallet had been moved; when he looked inside, he discovered his money was gone. The man said he ran outside to catch the woman and saw her get into a car with four to five other men. The man was only able to provide the woman’s first name to officers.

GOING POSTAL
11 a.m. — 2300 block of Waldemere Street. Juvenile Problem. An anonymous complainant called police after witnessing two children kicking mailboxes in the area. An officer met with the boys’ guardian, who was already upset at the children for what they had done to the mailboxes. The boys went to fix the damaged mailboxes, and the guardian said she would take care of any repairs if necessary. The woman advised they are getting ready to move from the area.

Nov. 3
MAKING A SPLASH

12:46 p.m. — 1800 block of Dr Martin Luther King Jr Way. Dispute/Fight. An employee at a business said he refused entry to a woman for wearing inappropriate attire. The woman became upset and left the location, but returned shortly and threw an unknown liquid along the entrances to the business. She ran from the location and was seen riding in a vehicle away from the site. Officers discovered the liquid she sprayed was lighter fluid, and advised the business to wash down the entrances to prevent the liquid from being ignited.

UNINTENDED MESSAGE
5:15 p.m. — 1700 block of 35th Street. Criminal Mischief. A woman said she was inside of a residence when she heard a loud noise and discovered the rear bathroom window was broken. The man who broke the window yelled a message about payback at the woman before running away through the backyard. The woman saw the man’s face, but did not recognize him. She suspected the incident might have been related to an arrest stemming from a burglary at the residence earlier in the month.

HOT WATER
6:32 p.m. — 3500 block of North Tamiami Trail. Petit Theft — Shoplifting. A loss-prevention officer at a department store detained a suspect for shoplifting. The officer observed the woman pass all points of sale with a pack of hot dogs and a container of laundry detergent concealed under her jacket. The woman was issued a trespass warning from the property, and the officer informed police that he wished to prosecute the case.
