Dec. 1
OSCAR THE THIEF
12:10 p.m. — 900 block of Beach Road.
Burglary of a Vehicle. A couple from New York reported that their wallets were stolen from the trunk of their Chevy Impala while they were at the beach. A deputy found the wallets in a nearby trashcan, and the couple confirmed that nothing was missing.

Dec. 2
PURSE PURSUIT
10:18 p.m. — 6400 block of Midnight Pass Road.
Lost Property. A woman called deputies to report that she could not find her purse. She remembered having it on her shoulder before leaving a parking lot, but could not locate it when she returned home.

GAS GUZZLER
10 p.m. — 7700 block of Sanderling Road. Petit Theft. A man called deputies to report the gas tank in his Toyota was empty. He suspected that someone siphoned $60 worth of gas out of the car.

Dec. 3
GROUP MENTALITY
1:01 a.m. — 900 block of Beach Road.
Criminal Mischief. A group of young men and a woman approached a woman and her friend and accused them of stealing one of their iPhones. The woman told deputies the accuser was a Russian man who demanded her phone even after she showed him personal pictures of hers stored on the iPhone. The group then began kicking the woman’s car, causing $200 of damage.

EASY ACCESS
8:50 a.m. — 900 block of Beach Road. Stolen Vehicle. A woman returned from the beach to find her car missing from the parking lot. She called deputies on her cell phone, which was left near the parking space where she left the vehicle. The woman told officers she left the car unlocked with the keys in the center console.

Dec. 4
UNKNOWN DRIVER
1:35 p.m. — 900 block of Beach Road.
Burglary of a Vehicle. Two women called deputies to report a teenager they didn’t know was sitting in the driver’s seat of their car. Officers found the boy later sitting at a nearby bus stop and arrested him.

TOO MANY TEXTS
7:39 p.m. — 300 block of Avenida Paradisio. Civil Disturbance. A woman called deputies to report her ex-boyfriend was sending her excessive text messages. She told officers the messages were not threatening in any way, but the sheer volume was troubling her.
