March 23
Noise level tested
12:40 a.m. — 5300 block of Ocean Boulevard.
Noise Disturbance. Police took a noise sample from the property line of a homeowner who was complaining of loud music coming from a nearby bar. No noise decibel violations were warranted.

March 24
Beach party broken up
10:50 p.m. — 6100 block of Midnight Pass Road.
Suspicious Circumstance. Police responded to a call of more than 100 people on the beach getting out of hand. Police observed a man holding an open can of Coors Light beer and when asked for an identification card, the man turned over a driver’s license that clearly wasn’t his. When he refused to properly identify himself, police attempted to arrest the man, but he continually resisted arrest and struck an officer with his elbow when he got his right arm free for a brief period. Upon searching his bag, police found three marijuana joints. The man was arrested on multiple charges and taken to jail.

Purse stolen
11:23 p.m. — 8900 block of Midnight Pass Road. Vehicle Burglary. A woman reported that someone entered her locked car while she was at the beach and stole her purse from underneath the front passenger seat by smashing the passenger front window.

March 25
iPhone theft reported
2:09 p.m. — 5100 block of Ocean Boulevard.
Theft. A man told police someone stole his iPhone while he was at a bar.

March 26
Credit report
11:45 a.m. — 1600 block of Summerhouse Lane.
Identification Theft. A man reported that someone used his personal information to open several credit-card accounts online. The cards were being used more than 50 times all over the state, including Siesta Key. Police have no suspects at this time.

Police nab drug dealer
4:30 p.m. — 6300 block of Midnight Pass Road. Drug Possession. Police pulled over three men for not wearing seatbelts and said they appeared nervous. Police found 18 grams of marijuana in the car and pipe paraphernalia. The men were arrested after admitting they took several hits off the pipe before they were pulled over. One of the men admitted to dealing the drugs.

Daughter arrested for battery
9:50 p.m. — 100 block of Beach Road. Battery. A woman told police she and her husband got into an argument with their daughter while they were making dinner. The fight escalated when the daughter threw a wine glass and shattered it before packing her things and leaving. The mother denied any physical violence occurred, but police noticed scratches on the mother’s arm and redness around the father’s left eye. Police located the daughter and arrested her for striking her father in the face and scratching her mother.

March 27
Bumper cars
1:07 a.m. — 5200 block of Ocean Boulevard.
Vehicle Crash. A driver backed his car into a parked car in a parking lot.


March 24: TUNES CARRY
11:20 p.m. — 5100 block of Ocean Boulevard.
Noise Disturbance. Someone complained of loud music coming from a bar, and the manager agreed to keep the back door of the bar closed as much as possible to keep the noise level down.
