DOG GONE
9:02 p.m. — 7300 block of Point of Rocks Road. Suspicious Incident. A man who claimed he has power of attorney over a vacant lot reported that a couple habitually allowed their pit bull to run free on the property. Police warned the woman about trespassing at 9 p.m. and then warned her boyfriend two hours later.

July 21
INCESSANT INSTIGATOR
8:50 a.m. — 5200 block of Ocean Boulevard. Suspicious Person. A convenience store assistant manager asked police to issue a trespassing warrant to a man known to enter the store and harass employees. A deputy issued him a warning.

LAUGH ALL THE WAY TO THE CLINK
1 p.m. — 5200 block of Ocean Boulevard. Open Container. Police spotted a young man exiting a golf cart beach taxi with a can of beer. When he approached a convenience store and put the can in question on a ledge, a deputy told him he was violating a county ordinance. The officer noted that he seemed extremely intoxicated and laughed throughout the conversation, which ended when police took him to jail.

DOUBLE WHAM-MY
6:27 p.m. — 6300 block of Midnight Pass Road. Vehicle Crash. A man driving a coup slowed while a vehicle took a right turn on Midnight Pass Road and was struck by another man in a Mustang. The Mustang sustained $3,500 worth of damages, seven times what the other vehicle experienced. Police cited the former for careless driving.

July 22
CALL ME MAYBE
3 p.m. — 5200 block of Ocean Boulevard. Grand Theft. A woman told police her cell phone was taken from a table at a restaurant. She said that she placed it on the table and turned around, and when she turned back it was gone. Her employer owns the cell phone, which was in Bradenton when the woman “Pinged” it.

July 26
BENDER’S GAME
8:20 a.m. — intersection of Point of Rocks Road and Crescent Street. Criminal Mischief. Unknown vandals bent a street sign near a private beach access and bent several real-estate signs along the same roadway. Police estimate the street sign incurred $200 worth of damage, but the real-estate signs were bent back into place without any damage.

TRY, TRY AGAIN
11:34 p.m. — 900 block of Beach Road. Burglary of a Vehicle. A tourist reported that someone broke into her rental van and took two credit cards and $120 in cash while she was at the beach. The woman told police there was one fraudulent transaction and several purchase attempts on the cards and that there was no sign of forced entry to the vehicle.

FANNY BUSINESS
10:04 p.m. — 3900 block of Higel Road. Residential Burglary. A woman reported that she placed her fanny pack and purse on a kitchen table, then found the items missing after taking a shower. She told police she forgot to lock her kitchen door, and may know who the culprit was.
