July 29
NOT HOUSE BROKEN
4:35 p.m. — 4000 block of Shell Road.
Dog on County Beach. Shortly after demanding an off-duty police officer vacate a section of beach, a man began walking his dog down to the water. When deputies arrived, they noted the man seemed extremely intoxicated and refused to cooperate. When an officer told the man dogs were not allowed on the county beach, the man stated that he wasn’t violating the law, despite that he was standing next to a dog and holding its leash. While in the patrol car, the man told officers he would get even with them, and upon reaching county jail, he urinated in the holding area.

July 30
ROAD KILL REVENGE
8:30 p.m. — 400 block of Canal Road.
Theft and Criminal Mischief. A woman called police after she found a dead opossum on her front porch, which she suspected was left by her ex-boyfriend. She also noticed four floodlight bulbs were missing from the front of her house. An officer located the woman’s ex-boyfriend, who became angry and began throwing his hands in the air while the deputy questioned him. Police searched the vehicle and found no hair or blood matching an opossum.

Aug. 1
ONE AND DONE
2:06 a.m. — 4300 block of Higel Avenue
. Driving Under the Influence. Police stopped a man, who drove his vehicle through a conspicuous stop sign, suspecting he was drunk. When a deputy asked where he was coming from, he was hesitant to answer. After further questioning, the man said he just left a bar, where he consumed one alcoholic drink.

Aug. 2
CONCSIENTIOUS OFFENDER
12:14 a.m. — intersection of Midnight Pass Road and Stickney Point Road.
Driving Under the Influence. A deputy pulled over a vehicle that was driving erratically, and noticed the smell of alcohol from the driver during the traffic stop. The man said he had several beers, and knew he shouldn’t be driving, but had obligations to honor.

Aug. 3
SECRETIVE SUSPECT
1:15 a.m. — intersection of Midnight Pass Road and Siesta Estates.
Driving While License Suspended. Police pulled a man over after his vehicle swerved onto a sidewalk and corrected the vehicle by driving it into the oncoming traffic lane. The deputy repeatedly asked the man for his license and where he was coming from. The man said he couldn’t tell the officer, but provided his license. Police arrested him after finding it was suspended.
