Oct. 5
The dark side
1:22 a.m. — 5400 block of GMD.
Traffic Violation. Police gave a written warning to a woman after noticing that her car’s driver’s side headlight and taillight were both out.

Put your best foot forward
4:44 a.m. — Longboat Pass Bridge. Public Service. A woman walked from her car on Bradenton Beach to the Longboat Pass Bridge but could not walk back because of a foot problem. Police drove her back to her car off the island.

Move this motorcycle
10:33 a.m. — 3100 block of GMD. Vehicle Abandoned. A condo unit owner reported that a motorcycle that doesn’t belong to any unit owner had been on the complex property for a week. Police were unable to contact the registered owner of the motorcycle. The unit owner told police he would put a note on the bike and send a letter to the owner by mail, stating that it would go to storage if it isn’t moved by the end of the week.

Oct. 6
Drinking is a don’t
3:39 p.m. — 100 block of GMD
. Beverage Violation. Police noticed a picnic table with alcoholic beverages along with food and plates while patrolling and warned people on the beach nearby that alcohol is not permitted on town beaches.

Marijuana mystery
7:15 p.m. — 500 block of Gulf Bay Road. Narcotics Violation. Police found a glass pipe dropped in a mug filled with beer at a home where they had broken up a house party the night before. The pipe tested positive for THC, the active ingredient in marijuana, but police were unable to determine who owned it.

Damage control
9:25 p.m. — 6000 block of GMD. Property Damage. A boating company manager reported that a renter ran a boat aground, resulting in $5,000 to $6,000 worth of damages. Police took photos of the damage and told the manager to call back if the renter didn’t take care of it.

Fight for the right to party
12:58 a.m. — 500 block of Gulf Bay Road. Disturbance/Noise. Police broke up a house party hosted by a 20-year-old man after they heard the party from the station’s parking lot. They arrested the underage host, who was on leave from the Army and scheduled to deploy the next week, but agreed to give him a break if he cleaned up the beer cans and bottles strewn throughout the property and if he left the next morning. The man was arrested the next day for both alcohol possession and the house party after police returned the next day and found that the man and several friends were still at the house, where they had liquor and a kegerator.

Oct. 7
New York, New York
10:40 a.m. — 2100 block of GMD.
Property Found. A man found a brown wallet with several credit cards, a New York driver’s license and $3 cash near the south fire station.

Voluminous complaint
9:44 p.m. — 4700 block of GMD. Disturbance/Noise. After police received a noise complaint, a food-services manager at a hotel agreed to lower the volume of music and said that the music would stop in a few minutes.

Running on empty
11:09 p.m. — 400 block of GMD. Public Service. Police gave a man a ride and some gas after his vehicle ran out of gas in the 6900 block of Gulf of Mexico Drive.

Oct. 8
Great gas mileage
7:07 a.m. — 400 block of GMD.
Property/Found. Police took a bicycle found at a gas station to the police station for safekeeping.

His plans were scrapped
10:01 a.m. — Emerald Harbor Drive and Old Compass Road. Suspicious Vehicle. A man who was driving around taking items out of recycling bins told police he was looking for cans to recycle. Police told the man he couldn’t do that because the cans were in containers already designated for recycling by the garbage company.
