Vandalism: An officer responded to a call from a grocery store employee. The employee said he was walking through the parking lot when he noticed that the initials “AFV” had been spray painted on a light pole and yellow parking curb. The employee was uncertain of the cost of the damage.

4:10 p.m. — 600 block of Bay Isles Parkway
Suspicious Person: A gate guard reported to police that a red sedan drove through the gate without permission. The guard said the driver headed north on Harbourside Drive after passing through the gate. The officer was unable to find the vehicle.

8:34 a.m. — 1500 block of Gulf of Mexico Drive
Nuisance animal report: An officer responded to a report of raccoons preying upon sea turtle nests. The caller said raccoons had already dug up two turtle nests, and a third nest was threatened nearby. The officer contacted Mote Marine to notify the organization of the situation.

12:12 p.m. — Pandora Street Beach Access
Boat: An officer responded to a report of a recklessly operated personal watercraft. In the opinion of the caller, the vehicle was being operated too close to swimmers near the shore and at too high of a speed. The officer located the driver, who conceded that he may have operated the craft inappropriately and said he would be more careful.
