Sept. 17
Home run
2:52 p.m. — 500 block of Outrigger Lane.
Suspicious Circumstance. A man said that someone had entered his home while he was at the beach, moved chairs around in the kitchen and locked the deadbolt on the door. The Realtor called to say that a coworker had entered the home for appraisal work.

Sept. 18
Time’s up
10:58 a.m. — 5900 block of GMD.
Traffic. A man told police his 180-day driver’s license suspension for a DUI was up, but police explained the license needed to be reinstated. He was cited for driving with a suspended license without knowledge.

Checks and balances
12:15 p.m. — 3800 block of GMD.
Fraud. A man’s bank account became overdrawn, and he believes his ex-wife took a check and depleted the account. His bank in Vermont requested a police report.

Keep it clean
5:47 p.m. — 7000 block of Longboat Drive E.
Animal. A dog got loose and relieved itself in a man’s yard. The owner came around looking for the dog and the man asked her to clean up after her dog, which she did.

Sept. 19
False alarm
10:02 p.m. — 500 block of Cutter Lane.
Alarm. Police responded to a burglar alarm but couldn’t find anything suspicious.

Sept. 20
Paid in full
6:53 p.m. — 3200 block of GMD.
Traffic. A license-plate camera showed the registered owner of a vehicle had a suspended driver’s license. The driver received a citation and said he paid the ticket but hadn’t had time to go to the DMV.

Sept. 21
What’s that smell?
11:31 p.m. — 2700 block of GMD
. Fire. Police responded with firefighters to a reported gas leak but learned there was no gas service to the building. Firefighters believe the odor was related to garbage or mildew.

Sept. 22
Turtle patrol
8:53 a.m. — 2600-2800 block of Harbourside Drive.
Assist Other Agency. Police found a hatchling under the department’s patrol boat and called Mote, which sent a volunteer to take the turtle.

Sept. 23
Fraud? Forget about it
9:39 a.m. — 1200 block of GMD
. Suspicious Circumstance. A woman called police about a $265 credit card charge she believed was fraudulent. While police were on the phone with a bank representative, she remembered that she had actually made the charge.

Ramp rights
10:56 a.m. — Linley Street and Bayside Drive.
Disturbance. A man said that a Jewfish Key resident was illegally using the town boat ramp to transport building materials to his residence. Police contacted code enforcement to determine if it was a violation. It wasn’t.

Put the matter to bed
11:03 a.m. — 3700 block of GMD.
Public Service. A woman complained that one of the box springs for the new mattresses she ordered was in bad shape and didn’t appear new. She didn’t realize she had bought the mattresses at closeout. Police told her it was a civil matter.
