June 4
Money grab

12:09 p.m. — 4400 block of Exeter Drive. Fraud. A woman received a bank alert stating someone she does not know transferred $299 from two of her accounts. A bank spokeswoman said the transfer occurred online, but she did not know how the transfer occurred or where it took place.

June 5
Roach control

8:43 a.m. — 4400 block of GMD. Traffic Violation. Police smelled burned marijuana during a traffic stop that police made because the driver’s license was suspended and the car’s tag was expired. The driver and passenger admitted to recently smoking and said there was a roach in the ashtray. Police gave the driver a notice to appear in court and confiscated the roach.

Watch dogs

2:44 a.m. — 500 block of De Narvaez Drive. Suspicious Circumstance. A woman said she heard someone walking outside on her steps, and her dogs began to bark.

Anchor’s not aweigh
4:33 p.m. — 600 block of Hibiscus Way. Boat. Police responded to a complaint about a boat that was adrift but found it was properly anchored. The man who complained said he worries the boat will strike his newly renovated dock. Police said they would notify the owners of his concern.

June 7
Waiting game

7:52 a.m. — 6000 block of GMD. Code Enforcement. Police told a construction site manager he could not begin work on the Key until 8 a.m.

Fuel spill
8:45 a.m. — Off the Key. Assist Other Agency. Police were fueling a town boat and saw a dissipating fuel spill. A man told the officer a boat operator spilled the fuel while filling up his vessel.

Missing in action
11:38 a.m. — 700 block of Marbury Lane. Lost/Missing Property. A woman tripped over her dog’s leash and fell while taking her dog for a walk. She realized her diamond bracelet was missing a few hours later.

Out of order
1:01 p.m. — 2600 block of GMD. Larceny. A man reported someone entered a maintenance office and took $66.06 out of an envelope. He also found other items out of place, including a lost-and-found bag that was dumped out and a black bag that was previously on top of a cabinet stuffed under a desk.

Jumping off point
2:24 p.m. — 100 block of N. Shore Road. Code Enforcement. A teen denied jumping from the New Pass Bridge onto Beer Can Island, however, others said he and six others jumped. Police gave him a warning.

Constructive complaint
2:28 p.m. — 500 block of Wedge Lane. Public Service. A man complained about construction that was taking place after the hours his homeowners association mandated. Police told him it was a civil matter and to discuss it with the association.

Bumper cars
9:25 p.m. — 4100 block of GMD. Field Investigation. A woman discovered the bumper of an SUV touching her car’s rear bumper at an angle, along with minor scratches. The owner of the other car told police there was no way he could have hit the vehicle because his SUV did not have damage. Police could not find evidence that the crash occurred.

June 8
Nap time’s over

5:42 a.m. — 100 block of North Shore Road. Camping. A Turtle Watch volunteer saw a small tent on the beach while patrolling for overnight nesting activity. The woman in the tent told police she had been fishing during the night and set up the tent to take a nap. She apologized and left the area after police told her camping was not allowed.

Lost connection
10:59 a.m. — 7100 block of Longboat Drive East. Domestic Disturbance. A man’s girlfriend disconnected the cable box and put it in her room. The man said he pays the cable bill and that she is just a user on the account. The couple is in the process of breaking up, and the man had given the woman her eviction notice that morning. The woman agreed to give him the box and take her name off the account. The man said he wanted to press charges for an incident in April in which the woman destroyed his belongings and agreed to pay for the items. She has not made any payments.

June 9
Bicycle theft

9:02 a.m. — 4300 block of Chatham Drive. Larceny. A woman left her bicycle in front of the stairway and returned two days later to find it missing.

Specialty cycle
11:18 a.m. — 5200 block of GMD. Larceny. A couple left their bicycles chained to a pole and found them missing the next day. The woman’s bicycle had a triangular water holder and lollipop pedals made to fit special riding shoes.

June 10
Time to make cuts

12:53 p.m. — 2100 block of GMD. Property Damage. A firefighter reported that the top of the rescue vehicle rubbed an overhanging tree branch while he drove it to a fire alarm call. A deputy fire chief said he would contact the homeowners association about the overhanging branch.

Tag team
1:14 p.m. — 5900 block of GMD. Traffic Violation. A license camera showed that a trailer tag was valid but was not registered to a vehicle. The driver said he borrowed the trailer from his friend and did not know it was not properly registered. The driver’s license was also suspended, possibly due to a red light ticket.
