March 21
Lost and found
11:45 a.m. — 4700 block of GMD. Lost/Missing Property. A woman reported her red digital camera, which was in its case along with a $20 bill, were missing. The woman later called police to say that she found her camera along with the money in a bag on a chair in her hotel room.

Loose dogs
5:14 p.m. — 500 block of Juan Anasco Drive. Animal Nuisance. Police told a man whose dogs had gotten loose that his dogs should be on leashes and have I.D. tags.

Customer complaint
6:37 p.m. — 500 block of Bay Isles Parkway. Trespassing. A drug-store manager reported that a customer at the photo counter had become unruly and was threatening employees. Police told the man to leave, and the manager gave him a trespass warning.

March 23
Traffic violations
3:44 p.m. — Intersection of Gulf of Mexico Drive and Broadway. Suspended License. Police stopped a vehicle that had an unsafe tire and found that the driver had a suspended license because of unpaid Indiana traffic fees. The vehicle also had an improper tag attached. Police gave the woman two citations and a written warning about the tire.

TIME FOR BED
8:55 p.m. — 2600 block of Harbourside Drive. Disturbance. A man told police that he was standing on the dock to which his boat is tied, talking to the residents of a neighboring boat, when they were interrupted by the resident of another boat who began cursing and insulting them. The man who was yelling at them told police he had been drinking and he doesn’t like the other man but agreed to go to bed without causing further incidents. The man began making further loud rude statements as police spoke to the complainant. Police warned the man that he would be arrested for disorderly intoxication if he caused any more disturbances.

March 24
Wrong place, wrong time
1:32 a.m. — 4000 block of GMD. Suspicious Vehicle. Police found two people asleep in the back of a van. The occupants told police they had been working, got tired and thought it looked like a nice place to rest. Police told them that overnight camping is prohibited and asked them to leave.

No parking allowed
5:50 p.m. — 100 block of N. Shore Road. Public Service. Police found the owner of a vehicle parked in front of a public beach access and told her to move it to a designated parking area.

March 25
BriefS encounter
1:48 a.m. — 5800 block of GMD. Suspicious Circumstance. Police asked a man why he had been standing outside in the rain in front of his vehicle stopped along Gulf of Mexico Drive wearing his underwear. The man, who was also wearing a small T-shirt when police stopped him, said he was attempting to change his van’s windshield wipers, which weren’t working, and that he just happened to be wearing his underwear. Police changed the windshield wipers, escorted the man to the south end of the island and gave him directions to U.S. 41 from there.

Move it
9:25 p.m. — 500 block of Gunwale Lane. Parking Violation. A woman called police about a car that was parked halfway in her lawn. Police found the car’s owner, who agreed to move it and apologized. He said he was concerned about blocking the roadway while spending the night at his friend’s house.

March 26
Back it up
3:24 p.m. — 100 block of Sands Point Road. Property Damage. A condominium association president reported that an unknown person driving a rental vehicle damaged a community gate camera by backing into it.

Safe return
9:46 p.m. — 5300 block of GMD. Missing Person. A man called police to report his 21-year-old son as missing. Another family member found him inside a locked room at the resort where they were staying.

March 27
Unwanted visitors
3:03 p.m. — 7100 block of La Lenaire Drive. Public Service. A resident emailed police to advise that unknown persons were trespassing on her property, defecating, urinating and allowing their dogs to relieve themselves. Police will meet with the resident when she returns to the state in April.

Dial ‘D’ for disconnect
5:05 p.m. — 3000 block of Grand Bay Blvd. Lost/Missing Property. A woman said that she left her cell phone in the ashtray of her vehicle, which she didn’t lock when she went to a dry cleaner and drug store. Police were unable to call the phone in an attempt to locate it because the woman had already gone home and called her cellular service provider to cancel service.

Precious property
7:22 p.m. — 200 block of Sands Point Road. Lost/Missing Property. A woman lost her $13,000 diamond wedding ring while vacationing at a resort. Police suggested that she rent a metal detector to use around the beach area where she had been sitting.
