OCT. 29

TRUCK TROUBLE

1:16 p.m. — 10000 block of Longboat Club Road

Property Damage: A resort club member saw a semi-truck damage a resort curb as he ran over it. The front of a sewer cap was also crushed near the curb. Police tried to locate the truck using the plate number provided by the witness.

 

OCT. 30

ACCESS DENIED

4:05 p.m. — 500 block of Putting Green Lane

Disturbance: A man told police that the owner of the vacant property next door began yelling at him because his contractor was using his property to place equipment, including a Dumpster. The man thought the contractor had permission from the owner to use the property. Police asked him to call back the next time the property owner shows up at his house. The man made plans to have the contractor remove everything from the lot.

 

NOV. 1

STUCK ON THE BRIDGE

8:43 a.m. — Longboat Pass Bridge

Public Service: Police responded to a report of a broken down car on the Longboat Pass Bridge. An officer pushed the car off the bridge while an off-duty fire lieutenant offered his assistance and drove the police vehicle behind them with the emergency flashers activated. The vehicle was left in a median for the tow truck, and the tow truck driver offered two women a ride to their home.

 

NOV. 2

SHAKEN UP

9:46 a.m. — 500 block of Bay Isles Parkway

Property Damage: A woman told police she was sitting in her car in a grocery store parking lot when the car began to shake. She discovered the woman parked next to her opened her door wide and slammed into the side of her car. The woman said she called police because the woman got upset with her when she called her out for hitting her car. There was a minor scratch on the car, and the incident was labeled as accidental.

 

DRIVEWAY DISPUTE

9:47 a.m. — 6300 block of GMD

Traffic: Two neighbors that share a driveway got into an argument when a service truck was blocking the entire driveway. They agreed to keep the peace.
