June 19
Double trouble
3:15 p.m. — Intersection of Gulf of Mexico Drive and Spinnaker Lane. Traffic. A truck and attached trailer both had no visible brake lights, and the tag on the trailer expired in 2005. The man said he wasn’t aware of either issue because both vehicles belong to his boss. Police called the owner of the vehicles, who also said he wasn’t aware of any issues but planned to immediately resolve them. The man received a citation for driving an unregistered vehicle and a verbal warning about the brake lights.

Playing dirty
4:13 p.m. — 6800 block of GMD.
Property Damage. A shopping center owner’s video-camera system recorded a red car enter the parking lot and skid over two patches of compacted dirt that’s being used to make handicapped ramps from the parking lot. At least two men were inside the car. The plaza owner wasn’t sure about the cost of restoring the dirt piles.

June 21
Taking ownership
9:36 a.m. — 400 block of GMD.
Abandoned Boat. A man reported that an unknown boat was docked on a property. It had been there for a day, and the man wasn’t sure if it belonged to someone on the property. He agreed to look into the issue further to try to find the owner.

False alarm
5:17 p.m. — 2200 block of GMD. Gas Leak. Police responded to assist with a fire, but firefighters reported it was a false alarm. Construction work caused residents to smell harmless fumes in the building.

Intoxicating view
8:25 p.m. — 2100 block of GMD. Reckless Driving. Police stopped a driver who was reportedly weaving in and out of lanes. The woman said she was looking at the Gulf view and had drifted into another lane. The woman showed no signs of impairment, and police did not issue any citations.

June 24
Phantom menace
2:12 a.m. — 5500 block of GMD.
Abandoned 911 Call. A woman told police she tried to call 911 but couldn’t get a cellphone signal. Her dogs were barking aggressively at something outside the bedroom, and she was worried that someone was inside the apartment. Police checked the apartment and the outside of the building and determined there was no one there.

Suspicious man
3:32 a.m. — 5600 block of GMD. Suspicious Person. A convenience store manager noticed a man wearing shorts and a white tank top wandering around in the area. Police were unable to find the man.

Clothes call
2:49 p.m. — 2900 block of GMD. Sex Offense. A beachgoer reported two nude men exiting the water. Police found two clothed men matching the caller’s description, but police didn’t see any violations. A woman at a nearby residence said she saw both men and reported they were fully clothed the entire time.

A gift from above
10:51 p.m. — 700 block of Dream Island Road.
Fire. A palm tree’s leaves hit the power lines and caught on fire. Rain put out the fire before police arrived.
