The following information was gathered from incident and arrest reports obtained from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

Dec. 27
Tongue lashing
3:31 p.m. — 6600 block of Anchor Loop. Information Only. While a woman drove through the parking lot of an apartment complex to get to her building, a neighbor stepped in the middle of the road to block her. The neighbor began to yell at the woman in a foreign language. In English, he then called the woman a “slut” and “whore.” The man then banged on the passenger-side window of her vehicle. He then went upstairs to his apartment unit and left the premises with his family.

Dec. 31
Alarmed
8:45 a.m. — 4700 block of Sabal Key Drive. Burglary. Unknown person(s) entered an unlocked screened lanai door. Once inside, the person(s) used an unknown object to break open a sliding-glass door. The home’s alarm went off immediately, and the person(s) fled.

Stolen spirit
12:25 a.m. — 11000 block of Hyacinth Place. Theft. A man reported someone took Christmas decorations from his front yard and fled in an unknown direction by unknown means. The man provided a picture of the decorations.

Left behind
1:33 a.m. — 1000 block of Rainbow Court. Theft. A woman was moving out of her home. She hired a mover. The homeowner had friends help her pack the house. She told one friend not to pack jewelry or the medicine cabinet. After the movers left the home, the homeowner noticed her jewelry was missing. The friends unpacked all of the boxes and did not find the missing items.

Locked out
8:17 p.m. — 3200 block of University Parkway. Burglary. Unknown suspect(s) tried to pry open the driver’s-side door of a vehicle. The suspect(s) did not gain entry.

Jan. 3
Slipped away
9:43 a.m. — 6600 block of Oakbrook Circle. Information Only. A woman reported her house slipper as missing. She thinks her neighbor took the slipper. There are no signs anyone entered her home.

Site steal
10:10 a.m. — 8100 block of 27th Street E. Theft. An unknown person(s) stole a steel pipe from a construction site. The pipe was removed from the ground and later recycled. The pipe weighed several thousand pounds and was valued at $500. Due to the weight of the pipe, the victim believes the suspect(s) used heavy equipment from the construction site to remove the pipe.

Go fish
3:35 p.m. — 7100 block of 28th Street E. Burglary. A man reported someone stole fishing equipment from his car. He does not know who may have stolen the items.
